Traveling Treasures Dazzle Students
Noted Ridgewood Jeweler, Arthur Groom, invited Dr. Jeffrey Post, curator of the U.S. National Gem and Mineral Collection at the Smithsonian Institution, to join him in an educational presentation of important gems and minerals.
The students of Ridgewood High School stood anxiously in a long line to see the fabulous displays that were brought to the school in a black SUV escorted by six police cars. They were, as the newspaper article declared, dazzled.
This was a special program to celebrate the opening of Arthur Groom's gemological laboratory, teaching and lecture area, a unique concept among jewelers.
Mr. Groom is internationally known in the jewelry trade for his development of an renowned emerald enhancement, the ExCel process, and his transparent disclosure practices.
