Smithsonian Donation
Arthur Groom of Arthur Groom and Company, a prominent jeweler in Ridgewood, New Jersey, recently donated an important emerald to the U.S. National Gem and Mineral Collection at the Smithsonian Institution.
The ExCel® enhanced natural emerald was received into the prestigious and legendary Smithsonian gemstone collection by Dr. Jeffrey Post, curator of the national Gem and Mineral Collection.
The ExCel® enhancement process was developed by Mr. Groom to solve an industry problem with inferior emerald clarity enhancements. Emerald enhancement, although not a new process, before the introduction of the ExCel® process would deteriorate. The ExCel® process is a polymer that is guaranteed to be permanent - although the ExCelŽ process laboratory can reverse the enhancement if necessary.
