For more than 40 years, Arthur Groom & Co. has specialized in the beauty and desirability of diamonds and colored gemstones. Because of our operations world wide in cutting gemstones and manufacturing jewelry, we are the premier source for magnificent emeralds, rubies, sapphires, and so many other rare and beautiful gemstones. Due to our vertical integration in the jewelry industry, we are able to offer our clients incredible quality gemstones and jewelry with the most affordable pricing.

In 1975, Arthur Groom founded Arthur Groom & Co., a high-end retail jewelry business located in the heart of Ridgewood. In 1987, he opened a division in Bogotá, Colombia, which concentrated on emeralds and gemstone enhancements. There he developed a revolutionary gemstone enhancement that is now used throughout the world. This process is called ExCel, and it is the only colorless and stable enhancement for emeralds. Arthur Groom’s business has continued to grow, and today has additional locations in New York City, Jaipur, India, and Afghanistan.

Arthur Groom is a member of the Diamond Dealers Club, the Jewelers of America, the International Color Gemstone Association, the American Gem Society and the American Gem Trade Association. He has also served on the Board of the American National Standards Institute, which develops world standards regarding the regulation of gemstones. Further, Arthur Groom is on the advisory board for the Gem Hall at the Smithsonian Institution’s Museum of Natural History, and has donated several gemstones which are displayed there. An international expert on jewelry and gemstones, Mr. Groom has had speaking engagements throughout the world.

Arthur Groom is also an active member of the local community. He has served on the Board of Directors of Hackensack University Medical Center, and is a former member of the Board of Directors of the Bergen-Hudson Chapter of the American Red Cross. He is also a generous supporter of Children’s Aid and Family Services donating a $40,000 Eternity Natural Emerald Necklace to a recent gala.
